LUDONGA Boxing Promotion was founded by Mr Thulani Magudulela who started training professional boxers in 1996 working with Hockey at Boxing Arena.

In 1998 he became a Manager/Trainer Game City Boxing Gym. Hockey left him with a Gym when he started the  Bluff Boxing Gym.

In year 2000 Thulani worked with promoter Rodney Blom as his matchmaker. That gave him vast experience in matchmaking.

From year 2001 to 2006 he worked with many promoters like Mzimazi Mnguni of Eyethu Boxing Promotions, Pat Molefe of Rainbow Boxing Promotions, Showtime Boxing Promotions and Future Boxing Promotions.

In 2006 Mr Magudulela opened a Ethekwini Boxing Gym at 126 Alice Street with the assistance from Municipality and The Dept of Sports which resulted preventing exodus of boxers to other provinces.

In year 2007 I started LUDONGA BOXING PROMOTIONS for development tournaments.

In 2009 started to train Soldiers (Recruiters) at Ethekwini Boxing Gym.As a recruiting program for SANDF.

In year 2010 started  a project of training and promoting Street Kids, fighting as curtain razors.

PARTNERSHIP


The solid foundation that LUDONGA BOXING PROMOTION have formed through the partnership that we have forged with the Department of Sports (KZN), through the HOD Mr Sangweni to develop & promote boxing in KZN, has resulted in I am are proud to say that this partnership has seen the likes of Thabiso Mchunu, Sicelo Mzobe, Xolani Mvubu, Irvin Buhlalu, Innocent Mthalane, Sabelo Mncwabe, Wiseman Dlomo, Jerome Cebekhulu, Sikhumbuzo Khoso and Winston Innes.

The Dept has assisted us with logistics when staging Tournaments and workshops for managers and trainers.

ACHIEVEMENTS


Our Promotion is ranked among Top Promotions in South Africa (Development Promotion). We have produced more than nine Provincial Champions.

and Two National Champions in a space of Four years. We have managed to stage 14 successful Title Fights in KZN. We have succeeded in reviving/rekindling interest in the Province. We are currently still the only promotion that promoted both female and male boxers in the province.
